Poets Underground is a San Diego based publishing company and nonprofit organization dedicated to building healthier, more connected communities through the transformative power of poetry and storytelling. Owned and operated by the married powerhouse duo, Sunny & Anthony Azzarito. Anthony being a 10 year Army Infantry Veteran with a degree in Psychology and Sunny being a 15 year social work professional, they both bring their own expertise into spaces. Through its Poetry Heals curriculum, they teach individuals how to process big emotions through the art of poetry. Poets Underground partners with schools, veterans, community organizations, and mental health
programs to foster resilience, self expression, and meaningful human connection. Poets Underground helps people discover that healing begins when every voice has a place to be heard.
